I was given a cream for pre-cancerous lesions. I was just told to put the cream on my face and no mention of blue light Therapy. I’ll start treatment next week. Is it common to have this procedure with out the light therapy?

I had the medication on for 2 hours in the waiting room. My husband drove me home after the procedure, my face was covered. My face was just as red, the swelling was bad, but not quite as bad as yours, and no blisters. A cool fan on my face felt better. But the rash and peeling especially on nose and cheeks is horrendous.

this is day seven of my second PDT. I had the same exact experience as you both times. Exactly !!! I could 'nt move my face which felt on fire. Aquaphor, ice, tynenol....repeat. I am still peeling at day seven but day 5 and 6 were major. It is scarey. my dermatology office is more attentive and gave written instructions, but yr idea of a cool mist would have felt like heaven. i worried that this thick dark skin with lots of spots would not ever come off so i was relieved when it started to peel. fingers crossed and much support to all who have experienced PDT,

Not ONE of these horror stories that I have heard or watched mentioned the doctor prescribing strong pain killers. THANK YOU to the doctors who overprescribed opiates so that now medicine has evolved into thinking, and teaching, that ibuprofen and or acetaminophen are adequate for most post procedure pain. I’ve even seen post op patients told these meds have been PROVEN to be more effective than opiates. When you have a study where you are trying to legitimize a certain theory, you will get the results you want. Just a general rant on my part. Hope you are doing well.

When you zoomed in close, I still saw the gray. Demi is definitely not long lasting. At least you did not do your entire head. I am all gray and I have to use permanent. I would not be happy to do my hair and still see gray.

The swelling you experienced seems minimal relative to others I have seen who had the procedure done. It must vary person to person.

Injecting this method is just injection water under the skin, 90% of PRP is just water is called PPP, it is more effective if injection PRP or PRF.

I’ve been on Tretinoin 5 months now and my age spots pigmentation hasn’t improved. If anything it’s darken them. Maybe that happens before it fades them.

My sister had the photodynamic done. I have used the 5FU cream twice. The last time was 5 years ago. I was to apply the cream for 3 weeks. My chin was like raw meat by the 2nd week. Called the office, did not get to talk to the doctor and the assistant told me to try to get a few more days in. Big mistake. My skin barrier on my chin is still compromised. Yes, I agree the doctor's office should check up on their patients who are going through these treatments. We as patients do not know what to expect. It can be brutal.
